Couples and families looking to get away to North Yorkshire will feel right at home in this cosy country-style cottage with a wood burner which is ideally located between the coast and the countryside. The hilltop fishing of Staithes lies just under 10 miles away where you’ll be able to hunt for fossils, stroll over the cliffs and immerse yourself in local life for a memorable day out.

The ground floor is filled with a free-flowing open-plan living space, warmed by a wood burner with neutral decor to help you truly relax. Through a large arch, you’ll find the delightful dining table, perfect for family mealtimes or evenings spent playing board games, which then leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen area is light and bright with plenty of character and everything you’ll need to fix up a feast come breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bedrooms can be found up the open staircase including three bright, coastal-inspired rooms, one featuring a double bed and the others single beds. Completing the floor is the shower room. From the kitchen, you’ll be able to step through to the courtyard garden which enjoys the sun for a large portion of the day.

Spend a day exploring the coast and you’ll have a wealth of options, whether you choose to walk along the coast path from Staithes to Sandsend for the blissful beach or pay a visit to the seaside town of Whitby (16 miles). Further inland, why not pay a visit to the Wainstones (16 miles)? The rocky outcrop offers spectacular views for miles in every direction, offering a challenging but enjoyable adventure. For a more leisurely walking trail, head to National Trust Roseberry Topping (10 miles) which is a sight to behold at all times of the year.

A cosy cottage in a superb location for exploring the moors and North east coastline. Loved nearby Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby. I'd say it was good value for money. The welcome pack we received on arrival was fantastic.

Lovely sleepy village setting and spacious cottage. Very well equipped with everything you need and more. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The folder of places to visit and what was near by was very helpful. The parking discs to display for free parking visiting certain places came in handy. Lovely hosts and would definitely recommend cottageRead more to friends and family. So much to see and do and plenty of places to visit within a 20min drive. Hide

The cottage was in a great location for exploring the North York Moors & the surrounding areas. The cottage was well equipped & the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The only thing I would recommend is that the cottage is a little dated & would benefit from a little freshen up.
