Treat yourselves to a touch of elegance when you stay at this exquisite cottage in Ripon. Featuring gorgeous interiors, the attractive, two-bedroom retreat sleeps four guests and comes with a sun-soaked gravel garden and summerhouse. Close to the river, it is just 350 metres from Ripon Cathedral and 500 metres from the city’s marketplace. It is also in a great location for visiting the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, 5 miles away.

Step inside to slip off your shoes and hang your coats in the boot room, which has an adjoining family wet room. Head on through to the stylish kitchen to unpack the Yorkshire delicacies you have bought and make a fresh pot of coffee. This chic space is designed for practicality too, with ample space for whipping up special meals to enjoy together at the table. Pass amiable evenings in the inviting lounge, where you can fire up the wood burner and find your favourite box sets on the Smart TV. At the end of the night, climb the steep, cottage-style staircase up to the first floor to lay your head in one of the two sumptuous bedrooms. These include a double, with a walk-in wardrobe, and a super-king-size with a zip-and-link bed that can also be arranged as twins. There is also a period-style family bathroom up here. Spill out into the Yorkshire sunshine of the lovely garden on summer days. Return from your busy days out to relax on warm evenings over a chilled glass of wine in the summerhouse.

Head out into picturesque Nidderdale, 4.5 miles away, to follow footpaths through the scenic moorlands. Plan a day trip to impressive Harrogate, 12 miles away, to admire its architecture, browse in its boutiques and choose between its array of restaurants.

We thoughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our needs had been well considered and everything was to a very high standard. A lovely property in a great location.
